John Unger

Mr. John Unger, a University of Toronto alumni, enjoyed a successful career as a corporate tax lawyer at Torys LLP, where he worked for over 40 years. John was also heavily involved with the thoroughbred horse racing industry both personally and professionally. As well as owning and breeding thoroughbred horses for twenty-five years, he was a member and a Steward of the Jockey Club of Canada and Chair of its Tax Committee. John joined the Horse Racing Appeal Panel as a Member in April 2016, presiding over hearings and contributing to the Panel for one and a half years.
