Dale Downey

Mr. Dale Downey served as a part-time member of the Horse Racing Appeal Panel from 2017 to 2019. Mr. Downey came to the HRAP with over five decades of hands-on experience with the care and husbandry of race horses which gave him a sound appreciation of the sport. Mr. Downey’s family owned Standardbred race horses that trained and raced for many years on the Ontario Jockey Club circuit. He owned, groomed and trained Standardbred horses in Kingston, Ontario that raced on eastern Ontario tracks. Mr. Downey created Downey and Associates Ltd, a professional Senior Project Management service for private and public sector clients involved in land development, redevelopment and buildings.
