Dr. John Hayes

A 1973 graduate of Ontario Veterinary College, Dr. Hayes has been an owner, trainer, driver, breeder and veterinarian of standardbred horses over a forty year career. Highlights include his winning the inaugural North America Cup with Legal Notice, and the 1981 Meadowlands Pace with Conquered. He has served on several standardbred industry boards and committees in areas of breeding, ownership, Rules of Racing, horseman purse negotiations, biosecurity and equine research. Dr. Hayes joins the Horse Racing Appeals Panel as a part-time member.
