Mr. Brian Newton joins the Horse Racing Appeal Panel as an experienced former Racing Official. Upon receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management in 2006, Mr. Newton worked as a Client Relationship Associate at an investment firm for three years. Pursuing his interest in horse racing, Mr. Newton received his Racing Official Accreditation with the United States Trotting Association in 2008. In addition to his work as an Associate Steward and Judge for the (ORC), Mr. Newton has updated and reformatted two of the Rules of Racing Books published by the ORC. During his work as a Racing Official, Mr. Newton issued rulings, prepared case reports and assessed penalties based on the standards set out by the ORC and the Rules of Racing. Mr. Newton completed a Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies Boards and Tribunals through The Society for Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011.
